Why Do We Pray? Does it Really Work?

We are told by our leaders in the church that we must pray. We must seek help from God. However, does it really work? God says yes. Matthew 18:20 says, “For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them?

God hears our prayers, and He answers them in His own way. It says also in the Bible, to pray without ceasing. We should be talking to God every day.

Prayer unleashes God’s power. It changes us, and it changes the way we look at circumstances.

When we pray it resets the heart, and eliminates the horrible sounds around us.

How the world would change, if we all prayed as if we believed the prayers would all be answered.

Instead of criticizing, we should pray. Instead of protesting, we should pray.

Take inventory on your prayer life. There is the need for prayer more than ever. Take time each day to pray for:

  1. Our country.
  2. Our national and local governments.
  3. For you own family.

If we ALL prayed every day, what a difference it would make in the world around us.

Don’t Fear Threats of Man, Rely On God For Comfort

There are far too many threats in our country. People seem to be going crazy. A man drove his truck into a bunch of people walking in a parade. Killing five of them. WHY? He was caught and will spend the rest of his life in prison.

There are many incidents like this. It is spreading.

I am finding, and I am sure you are too, that the Christian life is not easy.

The word Sovereign means, in complete control. God is sovereign. Why?

  1. He is the creator of all things.
  2. God makes Himself known.
  3. God decides what happens in this world.
  4. We send all of our pleas to a sovereign God.

We need to let God use us, and we need to speak with boldness and courage. Will this get us persecuted? Yes, but it is God’s will.

We have our part to do, and God has His part.

I always talk to others about what God has done for me. I do not call them sinners, I just share my life.

One thing I have taken for granted all these years is the Holy Spirit. We all know of God and Jesus, but we forget the final part of the three. The Holy Spirit. When you are a Christian, the Holy Spirit dwells in you, and helps you through the storms. He helps you to say the right things when needed.

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence.

There’re Times When You Need to Breathe Through Nose; Not Mouth.

I have found through the years that closing my mouth and just listen to someone works out tremendousely. They get out everything they want to say, and you learn a lot about them.

It didn’t hurt me to “shut up.” It helped the other person a lot.

What a difference that would make in our world if everyone did that. There just may be there wouldn’t be anymore wars, murders, riots, etc.

This would be a huge step towards freedom as well. We woudn’t need to rationalize everything we say. There may not be an actual agreement, but both sides will be heard.

Sounds like a plan, but man can’t seem to survive with that idea. They need to control or else.

How is your world going? Do people scream at you, and do not allow you to try to explain your thoughts.

Be as calm as you can. Roll with the punches, and know that God is there with you.

God never allows anything to happen that you can not handle. He will protect you through your storms.

Be strong! Stand up for what you believe to be right. Never give in to the enemy.

Woke Cancel Culture, and Critical Race Theory Are Spreading Fast

Had a progress test today at physical therapy. I improved in all areas except one and that was almost the same. That’s the good news. The bad news is I am not sure how much longer I can use the PT. You have to be referred, and I haven’t been referred in a while.

I’m making a huge prediction here right now. This is way off the subject, but I am picking Oregon State University football to win tomorrow against Stanford. If they lose you can pick on me.

I looked up several phrases that I didn’t understand. Now you will know as well.

  1. Woke cancel culture—Kicked out of Social Media.
  2. Critical race therory—against black people.

Neither one of those are on my bucket list to do. Very discriminating.

Why are these phrases even around? They are used so much, the Webster’s dictionary added them as new words.

Well, I did research on this as well.:

The origin of both of those phrases come from the far left. That explains a lot to me. I certainly am not far left, but I can see why they make up these fake phrases to try to plow down our rights.

How are you feeling about your rights today? Do you think they are slipping away?

To me, there is only one way to stay sane in this invironment. Only go by what it tells you in the Bible. There is nothing but truth in it. It speaks to all the left’s retoric.

Do not be overcome with their fake news, and scare tactics. Only go with what God is telling you and you will stand strong.

God’s Taking Charge of Our Country in a Positive Way

Things are heating up in our world. The pandemic is still raising its ugly head. The school boards are trying to control the parents. Congress men and women are fighting tooth and nails. Shocking revelation in Virginia this week.

We have to be very careful who we elect for school boards across this country. They are all slowly going far left. They want to control the teachers and the parents.

A father came to protest his daughter being raped in the women’s bathroom, by a transdresser. They transfered the perp to another school and he did it there too. The school board ignored the father’s plea for justice to be and they even arrested the poor man for disrupting their meeting.

REALLY???

Got to change! In the future we should all go to the panel discussions are held for candidates running for a school board. We need to ask very directed questions to them them to make sure we are getting who is best for our children.

Even the government seems to be lying, and sending out false reports. The Pentagon announced today that they were wrong about the estimate of how many Amercians were stranted in Afghanistan. They had been sending out reports forever that there were only 400-500 people still there. Today they admitted there were over 140,000!

Who can we trust? Who can we turn to for the truth. Of course, it is God. He is the truth, and the truth will set you free.

God is working! In Virginia the voters shocked the whole world by voting in three republicans to the statwide posts. The Governor, Attorney General, and the LT Governor. They also flipped their house of Represenatives to republican. This state was won by Biden by 15% points in the presidential election.

I think God is turning the corner on all of this nonsense. By the mid term elections next year there will a huge reversal in the national, House and Senate.

My famous thought, GOD IS IN CHARGE is overflowing now. He will do what he feels is best for our country.

Got my booster shot! Now I can take on the world. (Not really!)

There are some alarming things happening in our world right now.

An article I read stated that Presidnet Biden is a scapegoat. He is making all the mistakes and taking all the blame. This is what the rest of the democrats want. This is an opinion article, but I am not sure if this isn’t really happening.

China and Russia and teaming together to do military exercises. Doesn’t sound too good to me.

________________________________________________________________________

I always say this, and I have to repeat it: GOD IS IN CHARGE!

We have many bad things happening in our world, but He knows it and is dealing with it in His own way.

I will not fear. I will not panic. I will depend on God to protect me.

How do you feel about all of this? Is it getting too scary for you? We also have the pnademic in our lives. What can we do with all of this piling up on us?

  1. Do not panic. God will deal with it.
  2. Pray without ceasing.
  3. Much of what we worry about never happens. Turn the rest over to God.

Here is a prayer that I sent up to God yesterday:

Father, I know that storms are not optional, but inevitable. And I know that you use the trials to transform me into the person you have deigsned me to be. Let me rejoice when I face trials and struggless and trust that you have a reason. Form my character through the fire. Make me look more like Jesus. Let me face each trial with expanding faith. Let me bring your glory as I tell of your faithfulness to me. Let me encourage others in their struggles as well.

In Jesus’s name, amen.

I was reading in the Bible about the temptatons that Jesus faced with Satan. It was for forty days and nights. I can’t imagine that!

Jesus was hit by the Trifect: alone, tired and hungry.

Satan is the most prolific liar ever. Replace his lies with the truth of God’s Word.

Jesus has taken care of all of our sins in one moment. The moment He died on the cross.

Jesus succeeds where we fail, but on our own we will fail where Jesus has already succeeded.

As we wait for the return of Jesus, Satan can have minor victories in our lives, but he will not have the ultimante victory.

Remember: Our soul needs fuel. You can either learn from the Word, or from the world.

Never let Satan put you up on his wall like a trophy. Fight the darkside with all your heart and pray for God’s help to do it.

Getting a Booster Shot for COVID is Easier Than Thought

Got my booster shot yesterday, and I had minimal problems. Just a little fatigue.

I had way too much worry for this shot. Heard some stories about severe pain, and even some flu type symptoms. Didn’t happen. This confirms a chapter title I had in my first book, Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfreindly World. The chapter title is, Worry is the Dark Room Where Negatives Are Developed.

Have you spent too much time worrying like I did? Do you fret over things you really didn’t have to. 99% of what we worry about never happens. We just need to give the rest to God.

______________________________________________________

I have to keep thinking:

  1. God is in charge.
  2. He will protect us during our storms.
  3. He loves us so much He made us in His own image.
  4. Never give in to the darks side.

I haven’tbeen sharing this here, but I am almost through with my second book called, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of life.

I jusy need a couple more interviews of veterans and it will go to my publisher. The book reaches out to those veteran who may suffering from PTSD, TBI, War wounds, Etc.

In Life, Are You a Blocker, or Builder?

I was hornered to be able to play college football. I was the center for the team. I wasn’t all that big, but I did my job, and blocked to the best of my ability.

I remember my coach pushing us hard. He demanded perfection. It was good for us to have that, but even so, our team was 0-9 in games.

Sounds bad right? But in reality, I have never felt closer to a group of guys than I did then. We faced adversity evey game, but we showed up and played.

In real life, are you a blocker or builder?

In football blockers are important, but in life they are not wanted.

Here are some bad points to blockers in real life:

  1. Blockers keep others from reaching thier potential.
  2. Blockers cannot celebrate the success of others.
  3. Blockers look at life through the “me,” lens and not the, “we,” lens.
  4. Blockers criticize easily, and can’t praise.
  5. Blockers uses things to advance themslves, and not others.

We need to unblock others so they can reach their true potential. However, helping others only comes from humility. We need to serve others and not ourselves.

To become a builder, we have to get rid of our pride and selfishness. We should wnat to serve and not be served.

Look at the list of blockers up above again. Which ones do you struggle with the most?

Work on those and be a builder that all others respect, and look to for help.

People Are Broken, Distraced, and Weary From Life

Satan is getting desparate, because he knows his time is short, and he wants to sabotage your efforts to serve the Lord.

The truth is, the closer we become with Jesus, the more intense our spiritual battles will be. We must be aware of Satan’s schemes.

It is God’s will that everyone will come closer to Jesus than to Satan. But Satan will do everything he can to distract you from following Him.

We need to let God establish our priorites.

Love God-Serve God

If we truly love God we will serve wherever we need to, for example:

  1. Your spouse…God has directed us to love and serve our spouses.
  2. Single? Serve your family and friends. Don’t let anybody distract you.

Knowing the truth doesn’t strengthen you, doing the truth does.

Whoever does the will of God will abide forever.

Don’t do what ever your are doing for yourself. Do it for others.

Back to Satan.. he wants you to feel awful about yourself. He wants to deceive us so we will disobey God. If he succeeds you are on his trophy wall.

To fight all of this we need God’s armor.

When we are attacked by Satan we need let the love of Jesus control us.

We don’t give into fear. We don’t look for the paths of least risistance. We follow Jesus weherever He leads us.
