I am honored to be here with you. I started out being a blogger in 2009. I was horrible! I shared what I did for the day. Talked about the weather, etc.
BORING!!
Then I shared my feelings one day. I was hurting, and needed someone to talk to. It was absolutely amazing. I got ten or twelve comments from people helping me with soothing words.
I saw the light!
People didn’t want to hear about my everyday adventures. They wanted to find hope themselves. Several of the comments mentioned that.
So, I went from one new subscriber a week to 50 subscribers a day.
The rest is history. I surpassed 110,000 thousand before I was hacked.
Now I am starting over. Nothing has changed. I am still sending out hope and comfort. We just need to regroup, and get the subscriptions going again.

I am a veteran. I am a retired teacher, and now I am an author. It has been a fantastic journey. I hope to be with you for many more years. Go to www.dougbolton.com to find out about my books. They are called, “Signs of Hope: Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World,” and “Signs of Hope for the military: In an Out of the Trenches of Life.” The second one will be out by next fall.
I write two blogs now. My author site is: www.dougbolton.com
Hi Doug,
I’ve checked out the great info you’ve compiled on dailysignsofhope.com/2026/03/05/military-resources and wanted to see if you would like to add another resource to your page.
Our nation’s heroes living with limb loss often face new daily challenges, but it doesn’t mean giving up independence. Thanks to modern prosthetics and adaptive tools, many veterans thrive in everyday tasks like driving. We created a helpful guide on driving after amputation. Explore it here and share with fellow veterans:
