“One day older and deeper in debt.” Those lyrics from a country western song fits perfectly in our world today.

  1. Inflation is running wild.
  2. Gas prices are soaring.
  3. Food prices are skyrocketing.
  4. The pandemic is causing many to look for ways to pay for it.

__________________________________________

How can we survive in this kind of world?

The simple answer is that God even feeds the little sparrows. Don’t you think He will take care of us?

In my early days of marriage we were so poor that we had to turn the oven on to help heat the house. We were not sure we was going to make it until the next paycheck.

Somehow money kept coming in that we didn’t expect. It paid the bills, and kept us fed.

___________________________________________

God is there for you. He knows your problems. He knows you are struggling. Never feel you have been abandoned by God. He will never forsake you or turn hIs back on you.

___________________________________________

Never let the darkside convince you that all is lost. Look to the light of Jesus. Pray for protection from poverty, and worries.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

We often forget where we find hope in this not so friendly world. Here are some ideas about hope:

  1. Our hope is a command from God.
  2. Our hope is a certainty through God.
  3. Our hope is full when we learn what God has done for us.
  4. Our hope is full when we live to be like God.

You have heard of the old commercial that says, “I want to be like Mike.” The Nike commercial for Michael Jorden’s tennis shoes? Well, we Need to think, “I want to be like God.”

Be imitators of God!

Angels are not made in the image of God. Animals are not made in the image of God. Only you are are made in the image of God. That is how much He loves us.

To find out more about this we need to focus on the Bible. It is full of God’s love for us.

It is a great day, because I have no negative thoughts floating around in my head.

_____________________________________________

Can God perform miracles? Of course we know He can, but do we really believe that?

It is hard to believe in some things, but we need to believe. There is a verse in the Bible that says, “I believe, help my unbelief.”(Mark 9:24)

The whole chapter is about a man whose son was taken over by demons. The boy would have convulsions, and foam at the mouth. He did this from his birth.

The father cried out to Jesus to save his son because the disciples could not. That made Jesus very upset and He said, “O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you?: (Mark 9:19)

He was talking to His disciples who couldn’t chase the demon away.

Jesus had the father bring his son to Him and he healed the boy right there.

____________________________________________

We need to expect miracles. God can perform many miracles. We need to pray without ceasing that He will do it for our loved ones or ourselves.

He is just a prayer away. He wants to hear from you. Lean on His promises and talk to Him in earnest.

It was a wild week last week. The war in Ukraine started and the whole world is saddened. Putin has become the latest dictator to bite off more than he can chew. There also rumors of other wars through out the world.

______________________________________________

We all dread the thought of war. There are no winners in a war. I spent time in Korea back in 1960 as a soldier. That was not long after the cease fire. I survived, but I feel for our current military, because of the powder keg ready to explode in many places all around the world.

How do we face this threat every day? What can we do to help?

  1. Pray!!! Pray for God’s wisdom, in all of these scary spots.
  2. Support our troops all that you can.
  3. If you have a member in the family in the military, let us know so we can pray specificity for that person.
  4. If you are a U.S. citizen, thank God for that, and be praising Him.
  5. Send emails to soldiers to show your support for them.

At yesterday’s church service the topic was about being disabled for 38 years of your life and then having Jesus come by and heal you. Can you imagine have 38 years of pain, and suddenly it is all gone?

God can do that in our lives today. Miracles happen everyday. Never give up. If your are struggling, pray without ceasing. God is there to listen.

You have heard of lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! Well, what about threat of war, pandemic, and gouging prices increases, Oh My! I may want to choose the first choice.

This may not be a fun time to be alive in this world. So many things to cause fear. Fear is our worst enemy right now.

___________________________________________________

So what in the world can we do?

  1. Do not worry about tomorrow. Today has enough worries to handle.
  2. Worry is the darkroom where negatives are developed.
  3. Know that God is always there by your side to help you through the storms of life.
  4. Be strong for others and it will rub off on you.
  5. God will never you put you into anything you can not handle. That is Satan’s job.

_____________________________________________________

Are you overwhelmed with the fear of the unknown? Does each day seem to be too much for you?

FEAR NOT!

That is the shortest verse in the Bible. It also is the strongest in my opinion. Never give in the the dark side of Satan. He would love you put you up on his wall as a trophy.

Today, I am going to talk about aging. I am an expert! (80 something)

It is so hard once we reach the “golden,” years. Things slow down. Not just in the world, but in your body.

I try to walk as much as I can, but things aren’t going in my direction.

Yesterday, I decided to go on a short walk on my own street, which is a Cul-de-Sac. I did the first trip around, and headed for my second. I got about half way and suddenly realized I had rubbery legs for some reason.

It got worse quickly. I started wavering like a drunken sailor. I was afraid I was going to fall. I struggled big time to finish.

I made it back into the house and crashed at my desk. It took me a long time to recuperate.

What was going on?

I was getting older, and the tent I am living in was getting leaks!

This frightened me big time. Do I need to make funeral preparations?

NO!

I just need to accept that I can only do what I can do. I shouldn’t try to stretch my abilities beyond what I can do.

I am not going to stop walking, but I will start out at a shorter distance and work my way up to longer walks.

___________________________________________________________

Do you have this same problem? Is age creeping up on you, and you are really feeling it? You certainly are not alone. The majority of humans on this earth are getting up in years.

I have been thinking hard laterly. (It is giving me a headache.)

Why am I fighting old age? I should embrace the days God is giving me.

I saw a great acronym the other day. Instead of TGIF, It should be TGIT Thank God it’s today. We need to thank God for every day He is giving us, and not worry about how things seem to be getting very tough for us to do.

Now that you have a headache from learning so much, How are you doing? Do you live each day with prayers to God? Are you distracted by all the turmoil around you?

Stay strong in the knowledge that God is there for you. He will listen to those prayers I mentioned above. He will answer them in His own way.

Do not give into the darkside who wants you to turn away from God. The dark side is Satan. He would love to have you up on his trophy wall.

Why Do We Pray? Does it Really Work?

We are told by our leaders in the church that we must pray. We must seek help from God. However, does it really work? God says yes. Matthew 18:20 says, “For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them?

God hears our prayers, and He answers them in His own way. It says also in the Bible, to pray without ceasing. We should be talking to God every day.

Prayer unleashes God’s power. It changes us, and it changes the way we look at circumstances.

When we pray it resets the heart, and eliminates the horrible sounds around us.

How the world would change, if we all prayed as if we believed the prayers would all be answered.

Instead of criticizing, we should pray. Instead of protesting, we should pray.

_______________________________________________________________

Take inventory on your prayer life. There is the need for prayer more than ever. Take time each day to pray for:

  1. Our country.
  2. Our national and local governments.
  3. For you own family.

If we ALL prayed every day, what a difference it would make in the world around us.

I am going to be on a rant today. There are so many things I do not like:

  1. I do no t like the pandemic.
  2. I d not like the bickering and shouting in congress.
  3. I do not like the so called authority figures trying to tell parents what to do with their children in school.
  4. I do not like how our government is running things.
  5. I do not like, not liking things!

I have to realize, and I have said this almost every post, GOD IS IN CHARGE!!

His answer to all of my do nots, is “I am taking care of it.”

So just how much power does God really have?…

The Stars haven’t always been there. God created them. The earth hasn’t always been there, God created it. The universe is vast, and unending. He created it.

Just think how much power it took to do all of that.

So, if you fear facing the day. If you would rather stay under the covers all day. If the fear is just too much for you. You do not have to fear anything, but God.

As long as we believe in God and Jesus, nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8:38-39.)

Stand strong and never give into the dark side.

Things do not always go smoothly. I was going to get my booster shot today at Safeway. I went there and saw ten or twelve people waiting for their shots. I decided that since I was already there I would go ahead and fill out the paperwork and wait myself.

I got up to the guy at the register and said, “I am here for my booster shot.” He said, “You have to make an appointment now. We are so short of help, and there are so many wanting shots that we have to start having appointments.”

I am home again without a booster shot. My plans went under on me and it caused some stress.

I have to remember that not everything runs smoothly. There will be some walls in your way. They will be some delays.

Patience is not one my good qualities. I am now worrying about when I will be able to get my shot. Will I get sick before I get it?

_______________________________________________________________

FEAR NOT!!

99% of what we worry about never happens. Let God take charge of the rest.

Too simple? NO! God knows what you need. God wants the best for you. It sayd in the Bible that we will never have to face anything that we can’t handle. God will take care of it.

Always know that God is there with you. He will protect you. He will take care of your needs. He loves you so much He made you in His own image.
