What a week last week! It was time for my Colonoscopy test. The prep is always the hardest of course. Then on Tuesday they did the test. They did a double test for the upper stomach area, and the colon. I was completely out thank goodness.

The results were great and I will NEVER have another colonoscopy test!

Have you had to do some testing at your doctors? Did it worry you? There is always the chance they may find something that is not good.

In my first book, Signs of Hope. Ways to Survive in an Unfriendly World, I had a chapter called, “Worry is the Darkroom Where Negatives are Developed.” In that chapter I stressed that 99% of what we worry about never happens, and to turn the rest over to God. Pretty much covers it.

Yes, we live in a very stressful world. There is much to be worried about, but in the end all that worry doesn’t happen.

Stand strong and trust God. He certainly knows what is going on. He isn’t happy with all of it, but He is in charge and dealing with it.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

What a day so far! Had to get my car fixed so I was playing phone tag on the phone to get the appointment. Made an appointment at our favorite restaurant for May 7th. Our 34th wedding anniversary. Hunted for almost an hour to find the owners manual for our dryer. So I am very late in starting today.

Have you had hectic days where it seems like you are taking one step forward and two steps backwards? I have been there with you!

What I learned from this:

  1. Make a list in the morning as to what needs to be done and what order it needs to be done.
  2. Only work on the list. No side exits.
  3. Be patient!
  4. Distractions are a given, but try to avoid them.
  5. Have a beer when you accomplished your list for the day. 🙂

Speaking of distractions. We have so many in our lives right now.

  1. The war in Ukraine.
  2. The pandemic.
  3. Inflation.
  4. High gas prices.
  5. The southern border.

There are many more distractions you and I face each day.

We need to lean on God to help us be calm and in charge. Knowing His promises always calms my spirit. If you are a Christian you are not part of this world and will be with God someday. That is an overwhelming sigh of relief right there. Really…we are only on this earth for a New York minute, and then spend the rest of eternity in heaven.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

I’m Not Part of This World. I’m Just Here Temporarily

I’m off to the Oregon Coast today. The weather may be good as well.

There seems to be an uproar coming from the military itselt on the vaccination mandate. The Navy has said they will not force their people to get the shot, and one state National Guard General has said the same thing.

My feelings may be different from others, because I am an at risk person. I got my shots and I am hoping for the best.

I feel people have the right to choose, but remember your choices many affect, or should I say, infect others.

__________________________________________________________________________________

I have come to the conclusion that I am not part of this world. I am just here temporarily. I do not agree with so much of what is happening around me, that I feel like an alien in my own country.

Have you been feeling that? Do you think the world is rolling too fast, and leaving you behind?

I certainly hear you. There are many of us like that.

I have found that I am stronger when I read the Bible. It is full of hope and comfort. God reminds me that He is with me through my storms.

Turn to the book of truth. The Bible. Much of what is said there is a wonderful guide for life.

Never let the dark side overcome you. Know that God is with you to fight the evil one. Let Him take your burdens and pray for His protection.

We are very challenged in our world today. There is fear and discourgement all around us, but we do not need to feel defeated.

The first things to understand is that following Jesus attracts oposition.

People have equated blessings almost exclusively in terms of material and comfort.

There is a spiritual battle taking place and it is intense. It is going to be more intense.

The battle begins with the self serving politicians. They are doing destructive things that you have to face.

They wreak havoc within the ranks such as the pandemic, and making the church suffer.

This is all happening becasue of fear.

How do we fight back?

It starts at home. Love those closest to you. Bring your children up with love. You are not only parents of your children, you are also their spiritual guardians.

Is this easy? No! It is a battle.

If they struggle. Pray, pray, and keep praying!

In our day and age there are three things we need to have in our live:

Prayer

Perseverence

Be prepared

___________________________________________________________

Why Pray?

  1. Prayer keeps our focus on God, and not our enemies.
  2. Prayer spurs us into action in the face of oposition.
  3. Never think of prayer as always get relief. It may get worse after you pray. God is in charge though.
  4. Pray without ceasing. God loves to converse with you.

BTW… You are not alone. God will fight for you.
