It is the stressful time of the year. Rushing to buy presents. Getting that tree up. Planning the dinner for a gathering of family. The list goes on. How do we handle all of this stress?

I have come up with some thoughts on that:

  1. Stop and take a deep breath. I find that when I do that I feel much more relaxed.
  2. Sit and think quietly. Do not think of anything that needs to get done. Veggitate! : )
  3. Read a soothing book. (Yes you have time.) The Bible would be a good choice.
  4. Call a friend and just talk. Not about any rush, just talk.
  5. Go for a walk. This one helps me a great deal.

________________________________________________________________

I am sure you have your own list, but use it if you need it.

My greatest suggestion is to seek God’s comfort. He is always right there for you. Never let stress overcome you. Give it all to Him.

God loves you and even made you in His own image. Trust Him to guide you down the right paths.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

We are very challenged in our world today. There is fear and discourgement all around us, but we do not need to feel defeated.

The first things to understand is that following Jesus attracts oposition.

People have equated blessings almost exclusively in terms of material and comfort.

There is a spiritual battle taking place and it is intense. It is going to be more intense.

The battle begins with the self serving politicians. They are doing destructive things that you have to face.

They wreak havoc within the ranks such as the pandemic, and making the church suffer.

This is all happening becasue of fear.

How do we fight back?

It starts at home. Love those closest to you. Bring your children up with love. You are not only parents of your children, you are also their spiritual guardians.

Is this easy? No! It is a battle.

If they struggle. Pray, pray, and keep praying!

In our day and age there are three things we need to have in our live:

Prayer

Perseverence

Be prepared

___________________________________________________________

Why Pray?

  1. Prayer keeps our focus on God, and not our enemies.
  2. Prayer spurs us into action in the face of oposition.
  3. Never think of prayer as always get relief. It may get worse after you pray. God is in charge though.
  4. Pray without ceasing. God loves to converse with you.

BTW… You are not alone. God will fight for you.

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

I am having a problem writing this blog, because of my growing pessimistic view is getting larger.

I told my wife about my difficulties and she looked at me and said, “You have to have hope!”

That snapped me out of it, and I am ready to give out hope:

Helping those around you spreads hope.

Often things we worry about never happen.

Prayer helps you through any storms you may have.

Everyone needs to be loved.

I went grocery shopping today, and I was amazed of how many people refuse to wear masks. I saw a couple, and the wife had a mask on, but her husband did not.

He looked like he wanted someone to challenge him. I just felt he had that right, but he was endangering others around him and himself.

Over 90% of the new cases of COVID have not had the vaccine. That is staggering. People who refuse to get the vaccine are dying by the thousands.

The hope we need to find here is that people will see the huge amount of unvaccinated people dying and go ahead and get their shots.

Have you had some down time in your life lately? Do you fear getting out because of the virus?

Cling to the robe of God, and He will walk you through any storm you are having. He will be with you 24/7. He is the poster child for hope.

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Well, this old man is having issues again. My blood pressure is dropped big time. 105-59 is pretty low. Any time my blood pressure drops below 110, I seem to be in trouble. I see my cardiologist this afternoon.

Well you come to my pity party??? 🙂

What do you binge on?

  1. Eating?
  2. Chocolate?
  3. Shopping?
  4. Fishing?
  5. Netflix?

My binge is ice cream. I have never seen a flavor I didn’t like.

Binging can certainly cause problems and yes, we need to control them. You first. 🙂

Things I have learned this last week:

  1. You don’t have justice if you don’t have truth. This is sooo happening in our world today.
  2. The first order of love is that they are human beings. So many treat others like they aren’t worth of love.
  3. If you love someone tell them often.
  4. Be kind to everyone and it will be returned.
  5. Never turn your back on someone in need.

Pain and Agony Comes Knocking at our Door too Often

I had a nightmarsh day yesterday. I had my normal workout at cardiac rehab and came home very tired.

I thought I was going to be OK for the rest of the night when my wife decided we need to buy a storage shed for our backyard. We went to Home depot and didn’t find what we wanted. I must have covered every inch of that store because I was exhausted.

We then went to Lowes and found what we wanted. It was a storage shed in a box that had to be assembled. (Yippie!)

I was so far gone by the time we got home that I got very upset when my wife said we needed to put the box in the backyard. That box weighed 65 pounds! I tried to get it out of the car and immediately dropped it to the pavement.

We decided to drag to to the back yard. By the time we got where we wanted it I was almost in tears from the pain, and frustration.

I was in terrible pain so I showered and went to bed. I took Tylenol but was awake for several hours because of the pain.

When I woke up this morning I was still in agony, and had to cancel my PT appointment. I am just now starting to feel better with the help of Tylenol.

Have you ever had a day where everything seemed to come crashing down on you? Was it a lost job, or a lost loved one?

These kind of sudden tragedies take a toll on us. We wonder why it is happening to us.

We must always remember that God is always near. He knows our pain and frustrations. He will pull us out of the muck and more and give us hope.

It has been an interesting week for me. I go to physical therapy twice a week, and today my therapist did a mid term test on me. It was excruciating. She had me get up and sit back down as many times as I could in a minute. No help from your hands. I was worn out at the end, but she told I blew away my first test. YES!

Then she had me try to stoop down and pick up things on the floor. This is one of my tough problems. I was able to pick up what she had on the floor for me.

Then she took me outside and had me walk back and forth in a given area, and go back and forth as many times as I could in two minutes. I greatly improved in that as well.

Then she had me do a gruelling two minutes test on a stationary bicycle with the tension very high. I suffered through this test and she called it a day. She said she was very pleased with my progress.

___________________________________________

Have you been through grueling tests in life? Were they almost unbearable? Look at it this way. God is testing you. It may not be your midterms, but he is testing to see if your are faithful. He is testing to see if you are strong spiritually. He wants the best for you, and He feels He needs to prepare you for what live has for you.

Don’t get angry when things are hard. Just work hard to overcome them with God’s help.
