I told you on Friday that I was going to change the format This is the first post using the new format. It certainly not the final change. I will be doing changes during the next few posts, so hang on.

Here is what I envision for the future:

  1. Current news…right off of the headlines,
  2. Daily thoughts…this is where I can gripe and complain.
  3. Important thoughts…This will be thoughts I have written down that I think you will like.
  4. Speaking about God…this will be an ongoing thing.

___________________________________________________________________________________

This will be a short post today, because I am organizing what I want to post first for my next post on Wednesday.

Remember:

You are never alone,

It Matters What We Focus on in Our Daily Lives

______________________________________________________________________________________

Yes, it does matter what we focus on in our lives. Too many of us are hostage to our cell phones. We spend hours looking at junk. We get addicted.

______________________________________________________________________________________

That may make us feel somewhat comfortable, but in the end it is destructive.

  1. We need to feel uncomfortable to really feel comfortable.
  2. Worshipping God makes us comfortable.
  3. Worship is a response.
  4. We need to focus on Jesus. He has all the comfort we need.
  5. Worship is the recognition of true value.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

If you want to be uncomfortable, become a Christian. 🙂 Being a Christian is not for sissies. You will be persecuted. There will be hard days, with many storms.

That is why we need to dedicate our lives to God. He is a warrior to help us fight off negative things in our lives. He knows our storms, and he will calm them.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Be strong and fight all your storms with God at you side. He will win the battle for you.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Remember:

You are never alone,

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

People Aren’t Happy The Direction That Our Country is Going

I know that this site is called, Signs of Hope, but I am going to rant for a little bit:

  1. President Biden say that inflation is going down. Well it is still 40% higher than normal.
  2. President Biden is allowing thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants to cross our southern border.
  3. Food prices has skyrocketed.
  4. Heating bills are out of control.
  5. Biden will not let us do our own oil drilling, so the gas prices are incredible.

________________________________________________________________________________________

I have other rants, but I think that is enough for now.

Millions of people are fighting depression, anxiety, and have a pessimistic look on life. That is not good for our country.

What can we do to survive this delima?

  1. Take it one day at a time, and be strong.
  2. Be careful of what you buy.
  3. Hunker down for the next two years.
  4. Storms come, but they go away.
  5. Never let the darkside dictate to you what your life is like.
  6. Above all…never, ever give up!

________________________________________________________________________________________

We also need to remember that God is with us 24/7. He knows our problems, and will protect us during the storms of life.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Remember:

You are never alone,

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Murphy’s Law, What Could go Wrong, Probably will.

Murphy’s law is always in affect. If you think something is going to go wrong, it probably will.

I have had it happen to me before. I won’t elaborate, But I am sure you have too.

  1. The money runs out before the bills do.
  2. Your car broke down.
  3. You had a broken relationship.
  4. You fell and injured yourself.
  5. Your child said, “I hate you.”
  6. Your boss is always on your case.

______________________________________________________________________________________

These things have a tendency to pull you down like a huge magnate. It pulls at your heart, and it pulls at your positive thinking.

So what can we do to overcome this?

  1. Tomorrow is another day.
  2. The storms come , but they go away.
  3. Always think positive to push the negative thoughts out of your head.
  4. The dawn brings a new day with great adventures.
  5. I always go on a walk when I am down. I feel refreshed, and have a good outlook when I am done.
  6. The worst day fishing is better than the best day working.

Stand strong and face each day with courage and determination.

Always remember that God is with your 24/7. He will guide your day.

Pride is a Master of Disguise. It’ll Pull You Down.

Pride is a worthy opponent in our lives. It can control us. I have had problems with pride in my own past. I am certainly not proud of it.

Pride is a master of disguises. It can seem innocent, but it pulls you down like a huge magnate.

Here are some other thoughts about pride:

  1. We must humble ourselves and fight against the sin of pride.
  2. The essence of pride is a spirit of independence.
  3. We must depend on God to see us through our own pride.
  4. We can’t let Satan pull us into his schemes.
  5. We must trust that God will finish what He started in us.
  6. Social Media can sway our thoughts.
  7. It is easy to feel alone, but we are not alone.

To put this all in one perspective, we need to perfect our thoughts, confirm our thoughts, strengthen our thoughts, and establish our thoughts.

When we do all of that pride has no business in our lives.

Lyrics from a song on Sunday:

“With every breath I have, I will sing the goodness of God.”

_________________________________________________________________________________

Go about your day without using pride. Tell others they are good, and not think you are above them.

You are never alone,

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

______________________________________________________________________________________

We want to avoid suffering, but it happens. We want to make sure the suffering is not because of sin.

We need to submit to God to help us with our suffering and pain. What do we need to do to be submissive?

  1. Feelings.
  2. Desires.
  3. Trust.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Jesus submitted to the Father. He went through terrible pain and suffering. Because He did, Jesus is our substitute for pain and suffering.

______________________________________________________________________________________

I was thinking about my TV remote the other day. What Power!! I can get rid of channels I don’t like and turn to the ones I do like. However, we must remember that God is our remote of life. We are not our own remote for life. God pushes the buttons, not us.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Some thoughts:

  1. Do not return evil with evil.
  2. Overcome evil with God.
  3. Entrust yourself to God.

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

We Get Excited When the Weekend Comes. Are You Too Stressed to Enjoy it?

+If you like what you see, please subscribe at the top of this page where it says, “subscribe.” When you do, all future posts will come directly to your inbox. Also, if you know some else who could benefit from this site, please let them know.

Today is my 301’st blog post. I was much higher at one time but my computer went out on me and I lost everything. I had to start over.

Today is Friday, which means that tomorrow is the weekend. Whoopi for those who are still working, but for us retired folks it is just another day.

I remember the excitement of an upcoming weekend. Enjoying my time with my wife and children. Doing fun things.

______________________________________________________________________________________

With the stressful times we have now, just how much time do you have with your family on the weekends? It is pretty hectic most of the time.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Here is what I would do if I was still working:

  1. Put family first. They are far more important than anything else.
  2. Don’t feel guilty if you don’t get something done that you wanted to get done. It will still be there tomorrow.
  3. Always reach out to your family and be positive for them every day.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

How about your spiritual life. Do you done things one way during the week and another way for church?

We all need to be consistent and worship with other Christians. I know it is sometimes hard to submit to God, and realize He is your authority. He is a very loving God, and when you obey Him He takes very good care of you. He made you on His own image.

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Many People Have a Hard Time with Authority, and Submitting

I missed posting on Monday. My apologizes. Bad hair day.

I can say this is true for almost all of us, we resist authority, and find it hard to submit to others.

We want to choose what is right and what is wrong ourselves. We try to run our own lives without God. We hold off God ourselves. Here are some ideas to overcome that:

  1. We need to re-think our priorities.
  2. We can’t make our own rules. Our own rules can’t handle it.
  3. Be consistent.
  4. Don’t be one way way all week, and then Godly on Sundays.
  5. What we really are before God, is how we should act when no one is looking. ___________________________________________________________________________________

Humility is the key to righteousness. We need to humble ourselves before God and obey Him. We need to acknowledge that He is our authority, and submit to Him.

When we follow God we are free from sin, and free to earn righteousness.

I received good comments when I listed my thoughts to you. I am going to do it again today.

______________________________________________________________________________________

  1. Satan likes to nip away at us until we are beaten.
  2. Am I satisfied in my relationship with God?
  3. Everyone has an assignment from God.
  4. We need to make our faith white hot.
  5. Find someone you are comfortable to share with.
  6. Forgiveness is so unnatural for people.
  7. We live by the rules of God if we have integrity.
  8. Do we act one way all week and then change on Sundays?
  9. Walk away from those who try to change your values.
  10. Faith leads to action without fear.
  11. Are there any sins I don’t want to turn over to God?
  12. God uses adversity to develop us.
  13. What idols do I have in life that taking me away from God?
  14. We receive so many words of fear in the age we live in.
  15. Obey God even when you don’t know why.

____________________________________________________________________________________

Use these thoughts to learn and grow.

Giving into authority and submission. is one of the hardest things for people to do. We want to choose what is right and wrong for ourselves. We try to run our own lives.

______________________________________________________________________________________

What we really need to do is submit to the will of God. Being humble is the key. We try to hold off God ourselves.

Here is what we need to do:

  1. Rethink our priorities.
  2. Don’t make our own rules, because our own rules can’t handle it.
  3. Be consistent.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

What we REALLY need to do is how we act before God, is how we should react when no one is looking.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Take you own inventory on your life. Are you submitting to God, or you trying to walk on this earth on your own?
