I see to toe doctor today to get my toe nails clipped. I can’t bend down far enough anymore to do it myself. It’s called old age. I am 84 and suffering from the pain of getting older than dirt. 🙂

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Do you struggle with your age? Is it causing you pain and discomfort? I hear you!

We need to be strong and face the walls in front of us. We need to climb over them, dig under them, or just crash through them.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Of course we have help. God is with us 24/7. He will help us with the pain. He will hold our hand through the storm. He is just a prayer away.

Be strong and call on the Lord to help you through the day.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Remember:

You are never alone,

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Congress avoided a shutdown by just a few hours. They funded our government for another 45 days.

Why is it so hard to pass a budget? It is because so many congressmen, want their special “toys,” to be included in the vote. What selfish people they are.

______________________________________________________________________________________

I have been struggling for months with pain. I finally got an appointment of a physical therapist. The problem is that I have to wait a month to see him. There is a reason for that. He is considered the “muscle whisper” in the medical field. He is very good at what he does. So I will gladly wait for him.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Have you had to wait forever for something you really wanted?

I feel for you. We seem to want everything right now. I feel that God uses these time to show us how to face adversity. He wants us to feel how important it is.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Be strong and wait on the Lord.

What a weird week I have had. Some days were good, others were very bad. It was a rollercoaster ride.

It is very hard to face each day not knowing what kind of day it might be.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Have you had this happen to you? Have you had days you would rather have stayed in bed?

You certainly are not alone. They are things happening in our lives that drag us down.

Inflation, wars, gas prices, southern board, country shutting down, and many more problems.

No wonder that so many people feel lost.

__________________________________________________________________________

We all have to be strong, and pray for help from God. He wants what is best for us. He will not forsake you or abandon you.

Lean on God. Cry out to Him for Help.

What is a Good Foundation to Use in Life?

We all know we need a good foundation in our lives. The Bible talks about building a house on sand. It will get destroyed. It also says building a house on Rock is what we all should do.

What about you? What is your foundation?

A good foundation is stable, solid, fixed, predictable.

______________________________________________________________________________________

The best foundation is trusting God. He can provide all your needs. He can hold you hand during your trials. If you have sinned, God is the only one who can bear the weight.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Think of what you have for a foundation. Is it strong enough to carry you through this world. Do you need to reevaluate your foundation?

You are never alone,

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

Being a veteran I am overcome with shame to find out that 1.5 million veterans do not have enough food to eat. I know they were taught to be tough in the military, but they need to seek help anyway.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Have you had times when you needed something , but was too proud to ask for help?

There are many of you out there doing that. It is not shameful to seek help. Allow your friends and neighbors to help you.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

God will also provide for you if you ask. He wants you to be strong and healthy. He is just a prayer away.

Another whining day. I have been living with tremendous pain for awhile lately.

  1. I have a right leg that is very painful, and I can hardly walk at times.
  2. My lower back is a mess. Can’t stand for more than five minutes.
  3. My left should has a tendon that is in the wrong place and I get sharp pain if I move my arm in a certain way.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Other than that I am doing fine!!

So how do I handle all of this pain. When I meet with someone and they tell my they have any of the three afflictions above, I share with them how God is with me to ease the pain. He gives me strength and perseverance.

That is called witnessing. It is a nature for me, and I am somewhat glad that I am able to do that.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

How do you handle you pain and other afflictions? Do you not want to share with other people about it.?

Try being positive and sharing with others how God is helping you through you pain. I have seen many smiling faces when I do that. It also make you feel good, because you are helping someone.

I have had Drs. appointments everyday this week. I have another one today. I need to remind you that getting old is not for sissies.

Thoughts to ponder:

  1. The gospel is not just for your pastor.
  2. It is not just for the evangelist.
  3. It is for every believer to share.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

That is you and me. We are laymen, but we are also commissioned to share the gospel.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

So much turmoil in our world today. Wars, and rumors of war. Inflation, southern border, corruption, gas prices, and much more. It is hard to be optimistic during these times.

So what can we do to overcome this?

  1. Be strong in your belief.
  2. Never let the darkside overcome you.
  3. Know that God is right there for you holding your hand.
  4. Reach out to others who may be suffering.

I have been doing way too much ranting and I apologize for that. I am so frustrated with how our country is moving in the wrong direction.

I promise to share signs of hope today, which is the title of my blog.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

I am writing a new book called, Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the trenches of life.

It is a book written just for my fellow veterans from the military. It reaches out to those who suffer from PTSD, TBI, depression, wounds, etc.

I have had many wonderful endorsements from leaders in the military. One I am especially proud of the following endorsement:

Endorsement

Doug is a veteran turned counselor, blogger, and prayer warrior.  His most recent book provides the ammunition that we need to turn the tide in the battle against PTSD and suicide.

Doug Bolton’s “Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life” is a powerful tool in the battle against PTSD. He provides the insights that we…. that you need to stem the tide of hopelessness that many of our veterans and first responders experience.

Doug is a counselor and author, but most importantly an “encourager” who knows the daily pain and discouragement that so many experience.  You can feel Doug walking beside you acknowledging the hurt and depression.  But at the same time that he validates what you are feeling, Doug provides down to earth guidance and encouragement to move you forward.

Most importantly, Doug “walks the talk.”  Whether through his blogs or his leadership in several veteran’s organizations, Doug is engaged in this battle daily.  He is a founding member of the board of directors of Victory for Veterans actively encouraging the Board and senior leaders to raise funds and provide the tools so desperately need in the battle against PTSD.

Jim Jaeger, Brig Gen, USAF ret.

Jim Jaeger is a retired USAF Brigadier General and was the founding President of Arete Incident Response.  He continues to fight cybercrime as Partner and Senior Cyber Strategist at Arete .

_______________________________________________________________________________________

General Jaeger read the book and was very impressed.

I will be sharing more endorsements in future posts.

If you suffer with any afflictions like above. Know that God is there for you. He knows your hurts, your disappointments, or fears.

He will guide you down the right path, and hold you in His arms, with love.

The Bible says that when you are weak, then you are strong. Doesn’t sound right does it?

It is true though. When we, as Christians are down and out, we turn to God and He gives us strength.

Thoughts:

  1. God doesn’t choose the few who are qualified, he Qualifies the the few that He chooses. (Peter, David, Paul)
  2. We need to grow completely dependent on God.
  3. Know that you have been called by God to do greatness.
  4. Truth faith will not happen without facts to go by.
  5. True faith takes us beyond mere facts to trust.

A friend called me an audiophile this morning. I didn’t know how to receive that. Was it a slam, or a compliment? I looked it up in a dictionary and it is good thing. It is a person who as a great interest in high fidelity reproductions. In other words. I like music.

I had a big sigh of relief when I saw that.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Have you had someone call you a name and you had to look it up in a dictionary? Was you upset until you found out what it meant?

We have all been called something that we may like from time to time.

What should we do about it if it isn’t pleasant?

  1. Remember you were made by a loving God.
  2. Never let others try to label you.
  3. Do not strike back with your own bad words.
  4. Tell them you will pray for them.

I told one guy I would pray for him after he called me a not so nice name, and he blew up saying, “Do not pray for me a get out of my face.!” I turned and started to walk away. As I left I told him I would pray for him anyway.

He didn’t say anymore.
