I have been thinking of my two sons, and son-in-law lately. We spent a weekend at my son’s house in Roseburg, Oregon. It was not a fishing trip like we usually plan, but a just sit around watching college football and enjoying each other.

It reminded me of what a most important thing it is to be a father. It brought up some thoughts in my head:

  1. Parents should make it easy for their children to obey.
  2. We shouldn’t frustrate our children.
  3. Don’t do something to make them angry.
  4. We frustrate our children when we are harsh and unreasonable.
  5. We need to guide rather than block our children.
  6. The power you have over your children is for their development, not for your convenience.
  7. Sometimes parenting brings you almost to your end.

__________________________________________________________________________________

I know, “Easy for you to say!” However, if you truly love your children you can make this happen.

Realize that you can mold their future, and not push them into the muck and mire.

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

Today is my 301’st blog post. I was much higher at one time but my computer went out on me and I lost everything. I had to start over.

Today is Friday, which means that tomorrow is the weekend. Whoopi for those who are still working, but for us retired folks it is just another day.

I remember the excitement of an upcoming weekend. Enjoying my time with my wife and children. Doing fun things.

______________________________________________________________________________________

With the stressful times we have now, just how much time do you have with your family on the weekends? It is pretty hectic most of the time.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Here is what I would do if I was still working:

  1. Put family first. They are far more important than anything else.
  2. Don’t feel guilty if you don’t get something done that you wanted to get done. It will still be there tomorrow.
  3. Always reach out to your family and be positive for them every day.

How about your spiritual life. Do you done things one way during the week and another way for church?

We all need to be consistent and worship with other Christians. I know it is sometimes hard to submit to God, and realize He is your authority. He is a very loving God, and when you obey Him He takes very good care of you. He made you on His own image.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!

I received good comments when I listed my thoughts to you. I am going to do it again today.

______________________________________________________________________________________

  1. Satan likes to nip away at us until we are beaten.
  2. Am I satisfied in my relationship with God?
  3. Everyone has an assignment from God.
  4. We need to make our faith white hot.
  5. Find someone you are comfortable to share with.
  6. Forgiveness is so unnatural for people.
  7. We live by the rules of God if we have integrity.
  8. Do we act one way all week and then change on Sundays?
  9. Walk away from those who try to change your values.
  10. Faith leads to action without fear.
  11. Are there any sins I don’t want to turn over to God?
  12. God uses adversity to develop us.
  13. What idols do I have in life that taking me away from God?
  14. We receive so many words of fear in the age we live in.
  15. Obey God even when you don’t know why.

____________________________________________________________________________________

Use these thoughts to learn and grow.

You are never alone.

Giving into authority and submission. is one of the hardest things for people to do. We want to choose what is right and wrong for ourselves. We try to run our own lives.

______________________________________________________________________________________

What we really need to do is submit to the will of God. Being humble is the key. We try to hold off God ourselves.

Here is what we need to do:

  1. Rethink our priorities.
  2. Don’t make our own rules, because our own rules can’t handle it.
  3. Be consistent.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

What we REALLY need to do is how we act before God, is how we should react when no one is looking.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Take you own inventory on your life. Are you submitting to God, or you trying to walk on this earth on your own?

It is one of those days. I am being overwhelmed with aches and pains. My right hip hurts. My right foot hurts. My back is really bad. Struggling to keep my balance. Other than that I am doing fine.

______________________________________________________________________________________

It has been very hectic and stressful around our home the last two weeks. We had to move everything out of the kitchen, and the den. Then they put in new flooring in the kitchen area, and a new carpet in the den. Looks beautiful. BUT! Then we had to put all the furniture back! Still doing that, but it is all coming back together.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Have you had disruptions come into your life? Were they hectic, and stressful? It seems to happen in all of our lives. What can we do to face all of this?

  1. All things will change.
  2. Each day is a new day.
  3. Face your storms head on.
  4. God for long walks to relieve all stress.
  5. Try to block out all negative thoughts in your head.

__________________________________________________________________________________

Of course the most important thing to remember is that God is with you 24/7. He there when the stress hits. He is there when the darkness comes. He is there when you most need Him.

Always depend on God. He loves you and wants the best for you. Know He has many promises for you. Pray for His protection and love.

Back in Salem, Oregon after eight days at the Oregon coast. It was very relaxing. beautiful sunsets, great food, and good company.

______________________________________________________________________________________

It’s back to reality! I was hoping the world would straighten up while I was gone, but just the opposite is happening. There are truly thousands of illegal immigrants crossing our southern border EVERY DAY! Many them were arrested on the spot for having drugs. Others were known terrorists. I can’t grasp the mental capabilities that our president has to think this is fine.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Have you also been frustrated with what is happing around you? I hear you! It is difficult, at best, to feel there is much hope in our world right now.

What we need to remember is that our God is in charge. It doesn’t seem right some of things He seems to be allowing right now, but He has a plan for us, and we need to trust Him.

Last day at the Oregon beach. I leave tomorrow. It has been such a relaxing time. It is time to get back to reality in Salem, Oregon.

It also important to get some. “down,” time in our lives. We don’t realize how much is building up in our minds at times.

We need time to think and clear out our thinking.

____________________________________________________________________________________

Have you been there? Have you felt overloaded with the world? You certainly are not alone.

If so, it is time to regroup:

  1. Go somewhere relax and just vegetate.
  2. Flush out all the garbage in your head.
  3. Take inventory on what caused all the turmoil.
  4. Began the new you, and survive.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Never forget that God is there for you. He will never forsake you or abandon you. Pray for His protection and guidance. Never take on this unfriendly world alone.

I am at the Oregon coast. Spending a few days to try to relax. It’s working. Beautiful sunsets, and great restaurants.

______________________________________________________________________________________

It seems to me That this country I going in the wrong direction. Everything is off from where it should be, High inflation, gas, groceries, restaurant prices. Then there is the border crises, the war in Ukraine, and it goes on and on.

______________________________________________________________________________________

I know, it seems like I am whining, but I love my country. I am a veteran who served, and want what is best for our country. That isn’t happening right now.

______________________________________________________________________________________

I must be active, and share my dislike for what is going on. I need to write my congressmen and women. Never sit on your couch and allow the waves to come in over your head.

______________________________________________________________________________________

Always be strong in your beliefs. Honor God, because as we all know, He is in charge. Pray for His wisdom in your life. Seek His promises. It seems He is allowing too much pain, but in reality He has a plan for us, and we must be patient and wait.

Has been busy the last few days. We had to move everything out of our kitchen, and den. I mean everything. Refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, TV and console, Had my family come over to move it all, and I am looking at a living room stacked high with extra furniture.

We are having hard wood floors being put in the kitchen area, and a new carpet in the den. It will look beautiful when it is all done, but then you have to put everything back!

__________________________________________________________________________________

Pretty hectic, but worth it. Have you had disruption come into your life. Did things happen you didn’t expect?

It happens to all of us. One day peace, the next day, chaos. We need to adjust and hang on for dear life. Thoughts on this:

  1. Storms come, but they leave eventually.
  2. Always be prepared for things to happen, because they will.
  3. Always know that God is there for you. He knows you problems. Pray for His protection and love.

A friend saw the title of this post on a T-shirt. I think I want one.

My Pastor started a new series this Sunday called, the end times. I thought, this could depressing. I was totally wrong.

The end times will end up being a wonderful time if you are a Christian. Think on this:

Everyone who believes will be pulled up into heaven all at once during the rapture. There will be no pain or agony during this moment.

Grace came to you through Jesus dying on the cross. It will come again during the rapture.

____________________________________________________________________________________

If you are not sure if you will be sent during the rapture, do the following:

  1. Repent. Ask God to forgive you.
  2. Return to fellowship at your church, there is so much support for you there.
  3. Remember…no matter how old you are, God is not through with you yet.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Jesus came in as the lamb and he will come back as a lion.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Never think you are beyond being accepted during the rapture. God loves you as you are. Just confess your sins and enjoy the ride.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Remember:

You are never alone.

You are never forsaken.

You are never unloved.

And above all…never, ever, give up!
